Cancer research and clinical practice are undergoing an unprecedented transformation driven by rapid advances in translational science, immunotherapy, molecular profiling, and innovative therapeutic strategies. These developments are progressively redefining the standards of care across multiple tumor types, enabling more personalized, effective, and potentially curative treatment approaches. However, significant unmet clinical needs remain, including optimizing patient selection, integrating emerging therapies into clinical practice, managing oligometastatic disease, and ensuring sustainable and equitable access to innovative treatments. The XI International Congress "Clinical Needs and Translational Research in Oncology" aims to provide an updated and comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of oncology, focusing on the integration of translational research into clinical decision-making. The meeting will address key topics such as advances in cancer immunotherapy, including TIL therapy, vaccines, and immune checkpoint strategies; the evolving management of oligometastatic disease across different tumor types; and the development of novel therapeutic modalities, including radioligand therapy, CAR-T cells, bispecific antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates. A major focus of the congress will be the role of molecular and omics-based approaches in guiding precision oncology, including liquid biopsy, comprehensive genomic profiling, homologous recombination deficiency, and target-agnostic therapies. These tools are increasingly enabling a deeper understanding of tumor biology and supporting the identification of actionable targets to improve patient outcomes. In addition, the congress will explore emerging models of cancer care, including multidisciplinary management, innovative surgical and radiotherapy techniques, and the role of liver transplantation in oncology. Particular attention will also be given to the growing challenge of financial toxicity associated with cancer care, highlighting its impact on patients, healthcare systems, and policy decision-making. By bringing together internationally recognized experts in oncology, translational research, and healthcare policy, this congress aims to foster scientific exchange, promote multidisciplinary collaboration, and support the translation of scientific advances into clinical practice. Ultimately, the goal is to improve patient outcomes by addressing current clinical needs and accelerating the implementation of innovative, evidence-based, and personalized cancer care strategies.
